Rep. Jessica Grill is currently serving as a Democratic State Representative for Manchester’s Ward 12 (Hillsborough 18). A Bedford, New Hampshire native, Jessica graduated from Bedford public schools before moving to Boston to attend Northeastern University. Jess spent the next several years between Boston and New York City as she launched her career in advertising. Ultimately, her time out of state made her appreciate New Hampshire even more, and she chose to return home and settle in Manchester.
Jessica was raised to value hard work and service to others. Growing up, she was inspired by her grandmother’s experiences coming of age in a family of Eastern European immigrants during the Great Depression, and later balancing her career in social work with raising three successful children. These stories of grit and resilience helped push Jessica to run for office for the first time in 2022.
Jess has brought a people-first approach to Concord throughout her first term. She is committed to showing up for Ward 12, and has attended all State House session days to date while being accessible to constituents and maintaining a full-time job in the private sector. As Clerk of the House Election Law committee, she has worked to strengthen our democracy for NH voters. She has also worked with legislators across the aisle to address high-priority issues from housing to campaign finance reform.
Jessica believes in breaking the political tensions that often stand in the way of good legislation. She is a member of the Granite Bridge Legislative Alliance and chairman of the unofficial, bipartisan and bicameral Karaoke Caucus (where singing is strongly encouraged, but never required!). Jess often leverages her social media marketing background and short-lived improv education to share her legislative experiences online with humor and honesty.
In her non-political life, Jess works as a media supervisor for an ad agency and manages paid media campaigns for eCommerce, retail, healthcare, travel, and tech brands. When she’s not working, at the State House, or talking with voters across the district, she enjoys skiing, visiting New Hampshire’s lakes, and discovering new live music acts.
